i want a
stage i want
to stand with
all eyes on
me delivering a
ted talk about
something frivolous like
celebrity baby names
or reading a
poem so moving

dimmed light i
want everyone to
look away at

i want you
in the front
row watching me
watch you i
want to wear

just for me
i want applause
and cheers so
loud that i
can’t help blushing
and bowing awkwardly
i want an
audience of one
